How a Financial Coach can help you!

Financial Coaching seems ambiguous as a career path or job, but it can be extremely rewarding! Helping others learn Budget Basics, and how to analyze spending and implement a savings plan is very humbling experience. I get to meet a wide array of clients from all walks of life, and I get to help people in various stages of life as well.

A  Financial Coach’s primary goal is to help you understand your money goals and to assist you in reaching your level of Financial Fitness. Understanding money goals may seem like an easy task but once we start to unravel the average Americans actual monthly expenses, it can get very complicated very fast! Most people figure they will work for 35-40 years and at some point, through magic or miracles, will be able to retire and quit going to the 8-5 job every day. There is very little detailed planning beyond this wide unrealistic decades-long lens. This is where a Financial Coach helps you understand what you want to do with your money!

Having a Financial Coach in your corner gives you the ability to have a third party working WITH you rather than against you. Banks, credit card companies, auto loans, mortgages, etc. are all working to take your hard earned money and giving you very little in return. My job is to help you put together a plan that pays you FIRST and allows you the flexibility to decide how you spend your money. Yes, there will absolutely be hurdles to overcome and times where you feel like you want to give up, but as a Financial Coach I know when to push clients to strive for more and when to encourage you to keep going!

Financial Fitness is a broad term used to describe what “most” people would say is a healthy level of spending, saving, and investing. At Blue Collar Budgets, I understand that every budget is unique, and every person has different constraints they must work within to achieve goals. I do not offer a one size fits all solution and would rather understand my clients at the personal level, rather than just telling them they MUST follow MY plan. The plan that we come up with during our coaching sessions will be YOUR plan! It is very important that my clients have equal say in how their personalized budget plan is developed because they are the ones completing the actions. If I gave everyone the same plan to follow, it would maybe work for 25% of my clients. This is nonsense, so I work to provide personal suggestions and recommendations that work within YOUR framework.

Financial Coaching allows me the ability to work with people of all backgrounds. Single mothers who are struggling to make ends meet in order to pay their bills or upper income earners who have no idea how much they are currently spending. What I have found is increasing the income will only solve financial issues IF you truly have a budgeting plan. If you cannot manage $100 correctly, you will NOT manage $1,000, $10,000, or $100,000 correctly because you are missing the basics! Money is a finite resource for everyone, yes even the “rich/wealthy”, and no one has 100% completely disposable income.

At Blue Collar Budgets, my only priority is to help you get better at managing your finances to reach your level of Financial Fitness. I work tirelessly to ensure all of my clients have a personalized budgeting plan that works FOR them, and helps them get control of their finances. By creating a working budget and sticking to it each month, you give yourself more financial freedom than you can possibly imagine. I work with counselors, therapists, pastors in pre-marriage counseling, financial advisors, attorneys, employers, etc. because I love helping others learn how to ACTUALLY succeed with money, not just Instagram #fakeit!
